The video was shot in the Bahamas, shows reef, lemon, and tiger sharks

Thanks to movies like “Jaws” and “Sharknado,” too many people are quite convinced that sharks are vicious creatures that spend every waking hour trying to figure out where they might find a poor, defenseless human to sink their teeth into.

As it turns out, sharks are actually quite calm creatures. Besides, contrary to what some might think, they spend most of their time not acting like total jerks, but gracefully swimming around and minding their own business.

The video below made it online just a couple of days ago, when it was posted on YouTube by the folks behind environmental group the World Wildlife Fund, and it more than proves that sharks are seriously misunderstood creatures.

According to the video's description, the footage was obtained by Jarrett Corke while on a research trip to the Bahamas. Caribbean reef, lemon, and tiger sharks are all featured in it, together with several fish.

As one can easily notice, Jarrett Corke did not study these sharks from afar, but instead came stunningly close to them. However, neither of the animals turned against him, and instead settled for letting the two-legged creature hang out with them.

The World Wildlife Fund does not come right out and say it, but one can only assume this video is intended to raise awareness about how cool sharks really are and to encourage people to become involved in protecting them and their natural habitats.
