This week, the US Military unveiled one of its most recently developed gadgets: a robotic dog which is supposed to make a contribution to national security by helping soldiers move more easily through various terrains.

More precisely, this pooch, which can cover distances of up to 20 miles (32.18 kilometers) whilst carrying roughly 400 pounds (181.43 kilograms) of equipment, will aid military personnel get from one place to another faster simply because they will no longer have to burden themselves with heavy bags.

Moreover, it seems that such robotic dogs could also double as “mobile auxiliary power source,” meaning that they can provide soldiers with the energy they need in order to recharge various gadgets and gizmos.

It is expected that the Legged Squad Support System will soon become part and parcel of the US military forces.
