PETA's cause recently got a new supporter: Tia Mowry. The actress agreed to star in their latest anti-animal cruelty and anti-meat consumption campaign, and even put on a lettuce apron to prove how much she enjoys being a vegan.

She says that she is very grateful to PETA for helping her hold her ground when she first gave up meat and several people started poking fun at her decision on Twitter.

“I became a vegan and I was getting bullied a lot on twitter. And PETA reached out to me and they said ‘girl we’ve got your back’. And they sent so many cooking books and pamphlets,” Tia recollects.

The actress explains that, animal cruelty aside, vegans are and feel healthier than people who eat meat.

“Let veganism grow on you!” Tia Mowry encouraged her fans.
