The thunderstorm had an “insane structure,” says photographer Mile Olbinski

The ginormous supercell thunderstorm shown in the video above formed only a few days back over Texas, close to the town of Booker.

Photographer Mike Olbinski, who is extremely passionate about recording extreme weather manifestations such as this one, was lucky enough to catch it on camera.

He took as many pictures of the thunderstorm as he could, and then pieced together this time-lapse video.

“It took four years but I finally got it. A rotating supercell. And not just a rotating supercell, but one with insane structure and amazing movement.” Mike writes on his blog.

“I’ve been visiting the Central Plains since 2010. Usually it’s just for a day, or three, or two…but it took until the fourth attempt to actually find what I’d been looking for. And boy did we find it,” he goes on to say.
