As creepy as it might be to think about it, the fact of the matter is that, sooner or later, we'll all get to meet the Grim Reaper. And it ain't gonna be pretty.

Now, I don't know about you, but I for one am one of those people who like to always and forever be in the know, regardless of how bad a piece of news or information might be.

Hence, I could not help but share this video documenting what happens to the human body after death with you guys. More so since Halloween has just passed, and I can only assume that you are well equipped to handle scary things.

Not to take the fun (or, better said, the gloom and doom) out of watching the video, but here's a preview: shortly after a human heart stops beating, cells in the body begin to disintegrate and microorganisms move in to feed on them.

This process translates into the release of all sorts of chemical compounds that don't exactly smell like the most divine perfume ever to come out of a bottle. No, Sir, some of these compounds are downright foul.

Interestingly enough, it appears that, at one point during the decomposition process, the human body begins to shrink. As a result, a person's hair and nails can appear longer than they were at the time of the burial.

Before folks finally figured out how exactly decomposition works, it was believed that an individual's hair and nails ended up being longer a while after death because they continued to grow even in the grave.
