Video debunks widespread belief that us humans only use about 10% of our brain power when going about business as usual

For some reason, there are plenty of folks in this world who are quite convinced that us humans are not using our brain to its full potential. More precisely, there is this rumor that we use only 10% of it, give or take a couple of neurons.

How or why this rumor was started remains a mystery, and truth be told, it does not even matter all that much. What's important is that the claim that we only use 10% of our brain power is pure fiction.

As detailed in the video below, which made it online a couple of days ago, it almost never happens for us humans to go an entire day without using our brain in its entirety. Otherwise, we would not bother carrying it around with us.

Admittedly, some brain regions are busier than others and different areas become active at different times. Still, this does not change the fact that, contrary to what's being said, we need all our brain to carry on with our daily routine.

What's really interesting is that, because of how busy they are 24/7, our neurons account for about 20% of our daily energy use. This is despite the fact that, on average, the brain constitutes just 3% of a person's body weight.
