Zimmer and King explain how music and sound complete the TDKR experience

One of the outstanding things about Chris Nolan's “The Dark Knight Rises” is Hans Zimmer's superb score. A longtime Nolan collaborator, the Oscar-winning composer and supervising sound editor and sound designer Richard King sat down to explain the sound of TDKR.

Check out the video above to see what they had to say on the topic.

Zimmer explains how important music is for any Nolan film and, at the same time, how Nolan remains in charge even where it's concerned.

As expected, mention of the famous “chant” is made as well.

He also says, towards the end, that, while working on TDKR, he realized this was the movie he'd been waiting for his entire life. What now?, he asks.

King, on the other hand, explains how the sound of The Bat was created and how Bane's voice was altered in post-production – not to make it more menacing or anything like that, but to make it clearer, less muffled.

Useless to say, if you're a Nolan fan and you enjoyed his last Batman, the video above is a must-see. Enjoy.
