The US Department of Energy releases video about the making of biofuels

Given the fact that the US is presently trying to cut down on its harmful gas emissions by promoting the use of biofuels, it comes as no surprise that the country's Energy Department saw it fit to take some time and make a video which explains the basics of turning algae into an environmentally-friendly power source.

This footage shows how, after growing algae in carefully monitored environments, researchers can extract the oil these microorganisms contain and use it to produce sustainable biofuels.

From where we stand, the video is especially worth watching if one is planning on using biofuels to power their cars at some point in the not so distant future.

To put it bluntly: if algae-based biofuel is what's going to make one's engine run, one might as well be informed with respect to how this power source is made.
