There is more to making a latte than just pouring milk over an espresso

Except for those who for some reason have promised themselves never to let caffeine gently caress their brain cells and give them a nudge waking up in the morning, chances are that everybody has enjoyed at least one latte in their lives.

I too count myself among these lucky folks. However, I have to admit that, as much as I enjoy lattes, I have spent the better part of my life not caring about how they are made. Now that I know, I can't imagine going back to being in the dark.

Confessions of a caffeine addict aside, it is with deepest joy that I want to introduce you to a video explaining the ins and outs of making the perfect latte. The video, available below, was posted on YouTube by the folks at BuzzFeed this past August 4.

As detailed in the video, one cannot make a delicious latte unless one knows exactly what temperature the milk and the espresso that are supposed to end up in a cup together must be at in order to complement rather than attack each other.

What's more, the key to creating those amazing designs lies in figuring out exactly how to pour the milk to make sure that it does not mingle with the espresso, but instead remains at the surface. Check out the video to learn more about how to make the perfect espresso, and do share your thoughts on it in the comments section.
