Since these past few days we kept bringing up the topic of a potential crisis which stands to hit the global food industry, we considered it worthwhile to also present you with this video discussing how lab-meat gets produced.

The reasons are quite simple: whereas growing enough cattle and poultry to provide for all the people presently inhabiting the planet places tremendous strain on various already abused resources, relying on this innovative source of nutrients instead has very little negative impact on the environment.

Although it may be true that several ethical and culinary debates are likely to pop should lab-grown meat start being produced on a large scale, the fact remains that the perks it offers cannot be ignored.

Still, rumor has it that one burger made from this innovative type of meat stands to cost about $250 (€195.5), something we can only assume consumers will not be all that happy about.
