Stephen Colbert talks Boston Marathon bombings by paying beautiful tribute to the people of Boston

Just like comedian Patton Oswald was saying yesterday, tragedies like the one that took place during the Boston Marathon will eventually bring out only the best in people. Stephen Colbert opened his Colbert Report with a funny and touching speech on the topic.

Check it out in full below.

“Whoever did this obviously did not know [expletive] about the people of Boston. Because nothing these terrorists do is going to shake them,” Colbert says.

Whoever planned the bomb attacks are cowards who thought they could bring down a city that is the very definition of awesome, he continues to say.

The people of Boston will not kneel because of acts of senseless violence, they will only work together to emerge from the tragedy stronger and more loving and supportive than ever, he added.

“Here’s what I know: These maniacs may have tried to make life bad for the people of Boston, but all they can ever do is show just how good those people are,” Colbert says.
