Our kids have no need for a “habitable planet,” Stephen Colbert says

I should very much like to preface this blog by saying: “Take that, climate deniers!”

Turning back to the matter at hand, it seems to me that  Stephen Colbert's overview of how climate change impacts on our daily lives will soon enough go viral.

Talking about human society's need to fight back climate change and global warming, Stephen Colbert mockingly says that there simply aren't enough reasons for us to take measures against these ongoing phenomena.

As he puts it, “What’s the point of going to all that trouble if me and Erick Erickson won’t be around to enjoy it? I don’t want to be one of those grandpas who spoils the grandkids with a habitable planet.”

Furthermore, greenhouse emissions are pretty much invisible to the naked eye, and we all know that nobody can fight an enemy they can't see.

All in all, it is Stephen Colbert's belief that we should all “crawl in bed with a cheesecake and wait to die.” Except this is not what he means to say at all: what he means is that climate action is, at this moment, nothing if not mandatory.
