He says that the state of California was wrong when deciding to treat these birds with a tad more humanity, and that farmers going about their business in other parts of the country should not be made to build larger enclosures for their egg-laying hens.
Stephen Colbert does not agree with Steve King's views on this topic. Hence his taking the time to slam both the Republican and some of his most recent statements on the issue.
“This is just another case of the left wing loons in California imposing their deviant values on the heartland. I bet those California chickens don’t even have to be married before they have an egg,” Stephen Colbert jokes.
