Jasper the African Grey Parrot keeps its owner at bay

If you haven’t had the chance to hear a pet owner talking to their birds, you definitely have to watch the video below to see a polite conversation between a parrot and a man who wants to show his affection by touching it.

The speaking bird is sitting on its perch and the owner tries to pet it but receives a harsh response.

Well, it’s obvious that Jasper the African Grey Parrot doesn’t like to be touched, as it makes it very clear when the man tries to grab its peak. The clever bird responds by expressing exactly what it feels in plain words. It firmly says “Don’t touch me” and raises a defensive claw.

But what’s even more awkward about the footage is that the man quickly apologizes to Jasper, as if he admitted the bird was the boss in the house (although the man’s tone seems a little sarcastic to me).

Unfortunately, the video is too short, and we don’t get the chance to find out if the pair managed to reconcile or spent the rest of the day picking on each other.

The amusing eight-second clip went viral over the weekend with over 160,000 hits.
