No need to visit an ophthalmologist as this test will tell you if there’s anything wrong with your eyesight

If you happen to have a couple of minutes to spare and feel like putting your eyesight to the test, just sit back, relax and check out the video below.

All you have to do is take one good look at an image and decide whether whom you’re seeing in it is Marilyn Monroe or Albert Einstein.

If it’s the theoretical physicist you’re looking at, even as you move further and further away from your screen, then you have nothing to worry about.

However, if it’s Marilyn Monroe who’s smiling back at you from this image, chances are your eyesight isn’t all that great and you should definitely consider wearing glasses.

The image the test is based on is basically a picture of Albert Einstein superimposed over another showing Marilyn Monroe.

The first is a high spatial frequency picture focusing on details, the other a low spatial frequency picture that, alone, appears rather blurry.

If your eyesight is good enough that you can zoom in on details effortlessly, you’ll see the theoretical physicist. If not, you’ll find yourself staring at the actress.

Mind you, I have to admit I was curious enough to take the test myself. As it turns out, my ophthalmologist wasn’t lying to me when he said I needed glasses. Badly.
