The practice of using apes and other animals in the entertainment industry is something that both conservationists and animal rights activists frown upon.

Wishing to raise awareness about how the animals abused in this manner must feel, green-oriented group PETA has released a rather shocking video, made available to you above.

The idea behind this video is fairly simple: no human being could ever stand being abused in such ways, so odds are that chimps and other apes are not exactly thrilled about it either.

The video is narrated by actor Adrien Brody, who reportedly explained his decision to support this particular PETA campaign as follows:

“The bottom line is that we no longer can excuse the exploitation that exists in this world. Great apes are no exception.”

“They are extremely sensitive, intelligent, and emotional beings. It’s sad that they’re still commonly used in television and film, especially when we know how much they suffer behind the scenes.”
