Shadowrun enthusiasts and fans of the RPG genre rejoice as Harebrained Schemes, the team behind the awesome Kickstarter project called Shadowrun Returns, have just released the first gameplay footage of the upcoming title.

For those unfamiliar with the setting of the game, Shadowrun Returns is a turn-based RPG that takes place in a dystopian cyberpunk world where magic meets machine.

You will be able to play various character classes in an isometric perspective and explore a “dark underworld” that will only reveal its secrets to those who survive long enough.

The video published by Harebrained Schemes shows how battles are fought, as well as some of the character sheets.

The footage also shows how a character’s stats can influence conversations (D&D fans already know what this is all about).

As a backer of the project, I’m more than content to see how Harebrained Schemes is spending the $1.8 million (€1.4 million) that was raised via Kickstarter, and hope to see more titles coming from the team behind Shadowrun Returns in the not so distant future. Thumbs up!

Shadowrun Returns is now up for pre-order at Harebrained Schemes for only $15 (€12) for the Basic edition or $30 (€23) for the Deluxe edition.
