The sea lion got caught in a net and was pulled aboard, really didn't like coming face to face with the fishermen

Given a choice, most people would pick petting a sea lion over cuddling with a grizzly bear. The bad news is that, as it turns out, sea lions aren't exactly the friendliest creatures in the world.

On the contrary, there is a very good reason they are named after a ferocious land predator. Long story short, they too can prove quite vicious and inflict serious injuries.

The video below made it online just a couple of days ago, and it shows a seriously angry sea lion grabbing hold of a man and flinging him across the deck of a fishing vessel as if he were a rag doll.

By the looks of it, the sea lion ended up coming face to face with the fishermen and his colleagues after getting caught in a net and being accidentally pulled aboard.

Even while still trapped in the net, the sea lion keeps showing its teeth and acting aggressively. Once released, the animal simply bites into one of its saviors' arm, and throws the man across the deck.

The man does not appear to have suffered any serious injuries as a result of this very close encounter with the sea lion, but something tells me that it will be a while before he gets over the psychological trauma.

The video ends with the sea lion still aboard the fishing vessel, looking determined to fight whoever is ill-inspired enough to approach it. It's unclear how this confrontation ended, but I for one like to think that the animal eventually found its way back in the water.
