Samsung is trying to show us how the wearables will keep us “always in sync”

By now you’re probably aware Samsung has recently launched its new wearable products at MWC 2014, including the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit.

Like with any of its flagship products, Samsung has now launched a commercial for the new products. But unlike the usual ads we see today, this one is particularly sensible and doesn’t even seem to be about the Gear 2 and Gear Fit all that much.

The two wearables are showed at the end of the video (which is pretty long and lasts about 4 minutes) highlighting the importance of being “always in sync.” This, of course, is a reference to the device’s abilities to connect and sync information with smartphone , tablets and the like, but in the commercial the concept takes us a whole different level.

We’re saying the new Samsung “Another Me” commercial is atypical, because unlike other ads it’s not a work of fiction. Here’s what Samsung has to say about the story you will see in the video.

“No, this isn’t the script of a movie. This a true story of Samantha Futerman and Anais Bordier. When they finally met, they realized they shared the same tastes, thoughts and habits. Their discovery proved that as humans, we are in sync by nature.”

“Their amazing story inspired us, and we embraced it to express the idea how Samsung Gear allows customers to always remain in sync. The connection is not only about the devices. It is about the bigger picture: building better communication between people and the world.”

“Our hope is that Samsung Gear will be a part in the journey in finding “Another Me.”

“Another Me” is basically the story of Samantha, who aims to prove to the world that she’s more than just your average Asian kid who’s good at math, by becoming an actress. But one day she receives a message form a French girl who has been born on the same date at her and the two find they have a lot of things in common, like being adopted.

As you might have guessed already, the two are actually twins who have been adopted by families from different continents. When they finally decide to meet, they discover they have the same tastes, ways of behaving and predilections.

As we told you before, the commercial doesn’t talk about the Samsung wearables at all.

We see the girls wearing them as they pass each other on the escalator one day and the products are showcased at the end, but that’s it. Even so the point is driven home, the twins are always in sync and you could be too.

Anyway, take a look for yourself at this heartwarming story.
