The new video advertisement seems extremely familiar

Samsung and Barnes & Noble are hosting an event to launch their co-branded Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK on August 20, and while we wait on that, the two companies have put out an ad to tease our minds in anticipation of the release.

The thing is that the new video looks oddly reminiscent of an Amazon commercial the retail giant put out to advertise for its 3D Fire Phone.

In it, we see people reacting to the new tablet. Words like awesome, great or super are thrown in and the people seem genuinely, extremely impressed. Which is quite bizarre because let's face it, the Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK is just a Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 with NOOK software on top.

Nothing more, nothing less. There’s no “mindblowing” feature like with the 3D Fire Phone, so it’s a bit puzzling why the folks in the video react the way they do. Of course, Samsung and B&N could just be bashing Amazon here by presenting a perfectly average tablet like it’s the next big thing since the iPad.

In all seriousness, the companies are probably trying to get people excited about the device, but with specifications such as a bland 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and 8GB of internal storage, B&N has to offer some seriously cool software additions in order to achieve the effect they are hoping for.

But if Grumpy Cat doesn't hate it, maybe you won’t either.
