Back at CES 2014, chip maker Qualcomm showcased a reference tablet running its latest 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor combined with 4GB of RAM.

And this week, at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, the company took the opportunity to flaunt the power of their tablet prototype that will probably rival with consoles when it hits the market.

The Unreal Engine 4 was tested with the Qualcomm tablet, that bundles Adreno 420 GPU and according to the vid above, the graphics do look amazing (via Notebook Italia).

Snapdragon 805 has been built to provide full support for Unreal Engine 4 and 4K video streaming. The aim of Qualcomm and rival NVIDIA (with its K1 processor) is to finally offer an alternative to PS3 and Xbox 360 graphics on mobile devices.

Compared to the predecessor Adreno 330, the Adreno 420 brings about 40% extra performance and offers support for D3D-11 classes and OpenCL 1.2 API.

Tessellation is also present here, thus users can expect improved graphics performance, especially in games that use a lot of polygons.

Future tablets bundling Snapdragon 805 CPUs will come integrating Ultra HD screens and mini HDMI 1.4 or 2.0 ports.

Qualcomms reference tablet also boasts a 10.1-inch IPS screen with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and runs Android 4.4. KitKat out of the box.
