You'd think crocodiles have nothing to worry about and can just do whatever they please, what with them being top predators and all. Well, it looks like this really isn't the case.

The video below, shot in Kenya's Samburu National Park, shows a pack of lions attacking a crocodile that made the mistake to come too close to a hippo carcass they were feeding on.

The first to engage the reptile is a lioness. Soon enough, other felines join in on the fight, including a pretty big male. Together, the big cats claw at the crocodile and try to pierce its thick skin.

The reptile's strategy all throughout the fight is to keep tossing and turning to always face his attackers. Had the crocodile turned its back on the lions, the felines would have surely killed it.

Eventually, the reptile comes to terms with the fact that the hippo carcass is simply too well guarded and that it has no choice but go in search of food some other place, preferably where there are no lions.

While moving away from the battlefield, the crocodile does its best to kept an eye on the big cats, just to make sure that they no longer intend to attack it.
