It’s become a sort of tradition to have Presidential couple Barack and Michelle Obama sit down for an interview with TV icon Barbara Walters as the end of the year approaches. This year is definitely no exception.

Taped a few days ago, the Thanksgiving interview will only air today on ABC, and below is a first look at it. This segment in question is Barack’s message for the national holiday, but it includes a message from Michelle as well.

The President wants America to know he’s doing his best and that he’s always thinking of the troops still serving abroad. The First Lady chimes in to ask fellow Americans to say a prayer and a thank-you to these brave men and women fighting for their country in conflict-torn territories.

This year’s Thanksgiving special will also honor the many years Ms. Walters has been working in the industry, towards becoming one of the most respected journalists around. Thus, it will include “memorable moments from her news-making interviews with every President and First Lady since Richard Nixon,” the network has said.

If you’re keeping tabs, this is the fifth time Barbara sits down for an interview with the Obamas, the first time being right after the elections in November 2008.

Will you be tuning in on ABC for the special?
