Man who started petition to have Morgan deported gets to have his say

After speaking his mind on the need for gun control in the US in the aftermath of the Newtown, Connecticut shooting, Piers Morgan fell out of favor with millions of gun-owning Americans, many of whom want him deported back to the UK.

One of them is Alex Jones, a radio personality who started the petition on the White House official page to have Morgan deported.

He was invited on Morgan’s CNN show the other day to talk about the petition and why he considered the host had to be deported for suggesting on his show that gun control was necessary in the US.

Check out the two videos embedded here to see how that played out.

I will refrain from taking sides because I want to hear back from you. For the record, voices in the blogosphere are saying that Jones fell into Morgan’s “calm trap” and, in his desire to make his point, came across as too hyped and not making too much sense.

Others note that Jones could use some order in his thoughts / arguments, but Morgan still has no right to intervene in the issues of a country he’s been living in “for like 5 minutes.”

In response to the controversy, the White House has issued a statement on the petition, saying, “The White House responds to all petitions that cross the threshold and we will respond to this one. In the meantime, it is worth remembering that the freedom of expression is a bedrock principle in our democracy.”
