Burials are sad events, there is no doubt about it. Then again, it looks like they can sometimes be quite entertaining. Especially when the one leaving this world is a beloved pet goldfish whose former owners are just the right kind of cuckoo in the head.

Not too keep you in suspense any longer, the video below, posted online earlier this week, shows a deceased goldfish saying goodbye to his beloved family and his comfy home in a tear-jerking ceremonial Viking burial.

The footage shows the fish lying in a longboat made from tinfoil and floating in a toilet bowl while Simon and Garfunkel's “Sound of Silence” plays in the background. Just like the Vikings of the old days, the goldfish was set ablaze before being flushed down the toilet.

“Our fish passed away so we gave him the only respectable burial we could think of. He never wore a frown, and we won't forget a moment of those precious twelve hours we spent together,” reads the video's description on YouTube.

One can only hope that, after disappearing from sight, the goldfish managed to find his way to the mythical tanks of old, where he and his ancestors will admire an algae and forget all about it 3 seconds later for eons to come.
