I suppose a wholehearted “hip hip, hooray” is the best way to react to this video proving that pandas still inhabit China's forests.

True, there are only about 1,600 such animals left in the wild, but the ones in this video seem to be doing just fine so here's to hoping it won't be long until the species makes a comeback.

The video above was released by the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) on May 22.

It's made up of bits and pieces of footage showing several endangered animals caught on camera traps in China's Sichuan region.

Conservationists say that, though it may not seem too much, such recordings prove that efforts to safeguard biodiversity in this part of the world are working.

In other words, we would do best to not lose hope that both pandas and other animal species will be around for many years to come.
