The organization's senior vice president explains the reasons for the demand

If PETA were to have its way, President Obama would not pardon any turkeys this coming Thanksgiving.

This might sound a tad odd, given the fact that the organization has for several years now fought to protect animals from being turned into delicious dishes, winter coats and whatnot.

Leave it to PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange to explain the reasons for this peculiar demand.

According to Lisa Lange, the President's pardoning one or two lucky birds from being killed this Thanksgiving implicitly endorses the killing of thousands of other defenseless birds.

What's more, Barack Obama would do no more and no less than provide free advertising for a cruel industry that should be phased out not just for the sake of the environment, but also to benefit public health.

For some reason, I dare say that President Obama will not give into the animal rights' demands, and that this year's Thanksgiving will be no different from the last. Or the one the previous year.
