The full Super Bowl 2013 ad for “Oz the Great and Powerful” doesn’t include new footage, but it does promise an amazing journey, the likes of which you’ve never taken before. Check it out above.
Disney’s new film will be out in theaters this March and, with some help from esteemed director Sam Raimi, hopefully offer a background for L. Frank Baum’s character.
In this sense, “Oz the Great and Powerful” is a prequel, if you will, in that it aims to explain how the wizard got to Oz and how he became as powerful as he is.
“When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot — fame and fortune are his for the taking — that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting,” reads a short synopsis of the film.
“Oz” will be out
in 3D.
