If you’re looking into ways to watch your favorite TV shows on a Windows 8 device for free, you may want to have a look at the newly-released TVCatchup app.

With support for 32-bit, 64-bit and ARM Windows 8 devices, the app provides access to a wide array of British TV channels, including movies, sports, news, and music channels.

A TV guide is also available, and so is a synopsis for each show included in the app. It supports both landscape and portrait views, which is pretty helpful in case you wish to use it on a Surface RT.

“TVCatchup brings the new experience of watching television to your Windows 8 device, allowing you to watch over 50 live national television channels mixed with an interactive programme guide,” reads the official app description.

Sadly, the program is only available for British Windows 8 users, so it won’t show up in the Store unless you choose United Kingdom as the default location.
