In case some of you were wondering why it is that nobody ever wants to play hide-and-seek with octopi, here is your answer: they are masters of disguise and can make themselves invisible whenever they so want. Heck, they don't even need a ring of power to do it.

The video below, posted online just days ago, shows an octopus scaring the flippers off a snorkeler who had absolutely no idea that he was being watched by the elusive creature while he was exploring the ocean floor at his leisure.

The snorkeler, identified as Jonathan Gordon, says that he came across this octopus while swimming in the waters of the Caribbean. The man insists that, although he was freakishly close to the ocean creature, he never even suspected that we was not alone.

On the contrary, the snorkeler says that he was merely trying to have a closer look at a shell when the octopus came out of hiding and began staring at him and giving him the eye. One can only assume that the creature reacted this way because it wasn't in the mood to try and make friends with anyone.

“This guy took me completely by surprise while snorkeling in the Caribbean,” Joseph Gordon writes in the video's description. “I dove down to have a look at the shell that you can see just under where the octopus appears and as I approached the octopus came out of hiding,” he adds.
