Too many people are quick to dismiss Nicole Scherzinger as just another pop star trying too hard for recognition. Those of you who do, should watch the video above – and maybe you'll reconsider.

A while back, Nicole traveled to London for the Royal Variety Show, where she performed a song no one thought she'd ever be able to pull it off: Andrew Lloyd Webber's “The Phantom of the Opera,” in which she took the role of Christine.

Not only did Nicole pull it off, but she managed to do so while being pitted against the four best Phantoms ever to grace the stage and that's no small feat.

Anyone who's seen at least one “Phantom” show or movie must know that Christine's role is not one that can be carried off easily: her voice is extremely delicate but, at the same time, masking an incredible strength.

Nicole pulled it off to perfection – and the ending was truly epic, no doubt about it. Check out the video above to see for yourself.

Below we've also included another performance by Nicole on the same occasion, of her single “Try With Me.” It's good but it pales by comparison.
