Scientists can, at least in theory, use lasers to hack into people's brains

Sure, we tend to poke fun at people who walk around wearing hats made from tin foil, but, as it turns out, these folks might not be completely bananas.

According to the video above, scientists can, at least in theory, use lasers to hack into our brains and toy with the way we act and feel.

All they have to do is alter the genetic makeup of our brain cells in such ways that they start responding to light, the video goes on to detail.

Interestingly enough, such experiments have already been carried out on mice, and the results were promising, to say the least.

The folks at AsapSCIENCE say that this technology has the potential to treat migraines, depression, personality disorders and even Alzheimer's. And that's pretty cool.

I just hope nobody thinks about using mind control to turn twerking into a national sport or something.
