As we reported on Saturday, Microsoft managed to make its way into the Guinness Book of World Records, thanks to the AppFest coding marathon held in Bangalore, India.

No less than 2,567 developers created Windows 8 apps for 18 hours in a row, which turns Microsoft into a record holder for the “Most Participants in a Software Development Marathon in One Location” category.

Developers were asked to create apps from any of the software categories available in Windows 8 and, at the end of the festival, each of them was handed a certificate for taking part in the “biggest development meet globally.”

Microsoft’s Windows 8 developer events enjoy great success all over the world, as no less than 750 such conferences have been organized in 50 countries worldwide, while the number of people attending them exceeds the 200,000 milestone.
