This July 4, Mexico's Popocatepetl volcano grew even more restless than it usually is. Check out the video above to see it spew ash and steam into its surroundings.

The footage was posted online a few hours ago. It was shot during the early hours of July 4.

Local authorities told the press that several tremors had been reported in the regions close to the volcano over the past few days.

Since the volcano is located at a distance of roughly 55 kilometers (40 miles) from Mexico City, several airline companies (American Airlines, US Airways, Delta Airlines and Alaska Airlines) decided that it would be best to cancel all flights to and from this urban area.

It is expected that these flights be resumed as soon as the volcano quits being this active.

Specialists explain that Popocatépetl is one of the most threatening volcanoes in Mexico.

Now that it has once again erupted, authorities are on alert and ready to start evacuating people if circumstances demand for it.
