The footage shows a guy standing atop the Gordon Dam in Tasmania and sending a basketball through a basket all the way down at the bottom of the barrage.
The ball travels some 415 feet (126 meters) to reach the basket. It does not falter and instead moves straight through the hoop, much to the delight of the man who threw it and his buddies.
Now, some might be tempted to disregard this video as a fake. The thing is that, as it turns out, this basketball shot was certified by Guinness World Records officials as the highest ever documented.
Plainly put, this footage is as real as it gets. Folks over at Guinness World Records say so and they really know their way around impressive achievements, be they sports-related or otherwise.
This epic basketball shot was achieved by the How Ridiculous team, a group of sports enthusiasts from Australia.
In 2011, the team set the previous world record for the highest basketball shot when they sent a basketball through a basket an astounding 300 feet (about 91 meters) below them.
