Richard Dunn chose Celine Dion as his inspiration for the clip

Imagine you are stuck in an airport for countless of hours waiting for the connecting flight, or even worse, you have remained stranded overnight due to some meteorological conditions. So what do you do?

You let your creativity juices flow, of course. A Georgia man going by the name Richard Dunn who got stranded by himself in the Las Vegas McCarren International Airport managed to find an atypical way to kill the time (via Gawker). He shot a music video.

Dunn used whatever he had at his disposal and you can imagine this wasn’t much. Before closing for the night, one of the airport staffers was kind enough to give him a roll of luggage tape, which our creative fellow used to tape his iPhone to different things in the airport.

After all, he did shoot the video by himself. For the moving shots, he came up with the solution of taping the phone to his carry-on luggage or even placed it on the flat escalators.

The result? A funny, cheesy video of Celine’s Dion cover of the song “All By Myself,” which I might say is pretty fitted for the occasion.

The video managed to gather 3 million views on Vimeo in just three days, so not bad for a boring night spend at the airport in your own company.

It might make sense to wonder if Richard Dunn has somehow managed to stumble upon Robert Paul Smith’s obscure book “How to do nothing with nobody all by yourself.” If so, the read surely left him with some interesting ideas on how to turn the “nothing” into “something.”
