When it comes to marine environments, people simply have to remember that they aren't the biggest fish in the ocean. Or the bravest. Or the most agile.

As this video shows, humans might have the upper hand when it comes to using rather sophisticated tools to hunt down their next meal, yet the element of surprise and sheer determination sometimes top this.

The man in this video decided to go spearfishing and caught himself a rather large fish, yet once an unexpected competitor came into play, his hunting efforts were rendered futile.

However, it is indeed noteworthy to say that at least the man tried to put up a fight and hold on to his meal, when most of us would have probably given it up instantly, having been taken by surprise.
