This short animation was created by Academy award-winning studio Aardman, whose members wished to lend a helping hand to the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust and their ongoing conservation campaigns.

The people who pieced together this video explain that the dodo bird is considered by many to be a symbol of extinction.

Hence their decision to use its image to raise awareness of the need to safeguard other species.

“We know that currently there are more species either in the process of becoming extinct or in grave danger of doing so, than ever before in the history of man,” actor Stephen Fry offered as an explanation for his decision to lend his voice to the narrating frog in this video.

Comedian Alistair McGowan was the one who voiced the lonely dodo.
