14 DAY TRIAL // A video that supposedly shows a lion in the back seat of an SUV on a crowded highway in Dubai has recently been uploaded on YouTube and has become very popular on online social networks.
Apparently, the footage has been filmed in traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai and shows the lion pacing around in the back of a Nissan Armada and then calmly sitting down.
Users of social networks have expressed their disagreement towards this practice.
“Irresponsible, dangerous and just plain stupid,” wrote a user on Twitter.
“So So So wrong!” wrote another.
Although trading or raising wild animals domestically is illegal in the United Arab Emirates, many rich men in Arab states are believed to be keeping exotic animals as pets.
Following similar incidents in the past, the Dubai Police has warned that such a practice is unlawful. However, photos and videos of big cats transported in private cars keep showing up on the Internet.
