14 DAY TRIAL // When you’re the most followed and liked person on social media, just about everything you do becomes newsworthy, whether it's a simple TV appearance or a dinner date with friends. But Katy Perry continues to push the boundaries of her fans’ tolerance by posting a video in which she gets her nose pierced.
The video was posted on the artist's Instagram account and it showcases how the “Roar” singer literally gets an extra hole in one of her nostrils. Before you start fainting, let us reassure you, there is no blood whatsoever, in fact, it sort of looks like the hole was made before the video was shot and then Katy simply acted for the camera.
You can hear her complain with a single whiny “Awww,” but that's about it. Granted, Katy does look a little bit out of it, as if she's been given some strong anesthetic. In fact, right after she begins complaining, the guy performing the piercing begins to comfort her and promises that he's going to feel bad because he was hurting her.
The video posted by Perry was captioned with a very startling confession, “Last time I did this I was on my own with a safety pin & cube of ice @ 13. This time I thought it was best I left it to the pro's. Sorry mom (again).”
This basically means that, while she's a world superstar, Katy still has to get permission from her mother to get a piercing and that she didn't get one, hence the “sorry mom.” Also, we find out that this is not the first time Katy gets her nose pierced, since her first one was at age 13, with a safety pin and a cube of ice.
All you kids reading this article right now, don't get any ideas, it's not cool to try to do this at home by yourself, since there's something nasty called infection which can totally ruin your face if you're not careful. So let a professional do it, but only after thinking really hard about it, because this is one of those things you can't take back when you're bored.
As for Perry, this isn't the first time she's shocked her fans. Earlier this summer, she decided to post a photo of herself without any eyebrows, a look that thankfully never really caught on. After watching the video, the only thing we can say is: your move, Lady Gaga!
