The feline kills the caiman in a matter of seconds

You'd think caimans have nothing to worry about. I mean, they are top predators, and few would ever dare bother them when they are busy sunbathing. Still, it turns out that jaguars have no issues turning these reptiles into their next meal.

The video above was shot in Brazil's Pantanal wetlands. I don't know about you, but I for one would like to thank National Geographic for sharing it with us.

The footage shows a jaguar stalking and attacking a caiman. The feline is such an extraordinary predator that it only needs a few seconds to kill the reptile.

The latter tries to put up a fight but, unfortunately, its retaliation doesn't quite go according to plan. Tough luck, I suppose.

After killing the caiman, the jaguar drags it off the river bank, presumably in order to eat someplace peaceful and quiet.
