If you were counting on getting a good night's rest tonight, I regret to inform you that this probably won't happen. Not after you have a look at the video below, that is.

The video shows the world's first Ratcopter soaring through the air with the grace of a dead, stuffed rat – which is exactly what it is – and then returning to its designated landing strip.

The Ratcopter, which is best described as the stuff nightmares are made of, is the creation of two Dutch inventors named Arjen Beltman and Bart Jansen, Oddity Central informs.

By the looks of it, these two technology enthusiasts created the Ratcopter looking to help a 13-year-old boy named Pepeijn Bruins come to terms with the death of his beloved pet rat.

That's right, this world's first Ratcopter wasn't always a dead, stuffed rat fitted with propellers and an on-board computer that enables it to fly around.

It used to be just a regular rat, which died after getting cancer and which Arjen Beltman and Bart Jansen took care of turning into a technological wonder.

“When I heard the boy’s rat had died of cancer, and how upset he was, I just knew I had to help,” inventor Arjen Beltman told the press in an interview. “It has three rotors, and being a small rodent, it is extremely lightweight,” he added.
