Washington high-school senior Austin Rehkow tops NFL record

Austin Rehkow, a senior at Central Valley High School in Spokane Valley, Washington, hits this one out of the park, scoring a field goal from 67 yards away.

Austin managed to top the NFL record of 63 yards, currently held by four players. In 1985, high-school player Dirk Borgognone topped the charts with a 68-yarder.

This clip has racked up more than 200,000 views in just two days, making it a full-fledged viral. The moment was captured in the last 2 seconds of a tie game, which makes the whole thing even more exciting. Austin's Central Valley team was battling it out with Shadle Park High School's, at the Joe Albi Stadium in Spokane, Washington.

The game ended with Central Valley winning, 62 to 55, after Austin's incredible field goal. Austin, who has been dubbed by fans “the best kicker in the world,” sometimes plays wide receiver on the field. He is also a star in his high school’s basketball team.
