Video shows loving and totally lovable marmot give camera a really sloppy kiss

I'm sorry to say this, but judging by the video below, marmots aren't exactly the world's most extraordinary kissers. On the contrary, they are a long way from mastering the art of smooching.

The footage below was posted on YouTube only a couple of days ago, and I myself find it simply adorable. In a nutshell, the video shows a marmot planting one on a GoPro camera.

Unfortunately for the loving and totally lovable creature, the camera refuses to kiss it back. The marmot keeps trying to win its affection for a while, but eventually gives up and moves on.

In case anyone was wondering, the video was shared with the public by environmental group Greenpeace as a means to draw people's attention to the need to protect parks against plans to exploit them for coal.

Thus, the video is linked to a webpage for a petition asking that the Department of the Interior in the US drop its plans to auction off public lands for coal mining.

“National parks all across the country are hurting. Climate change is dramatically altering the natural places we love, from melting glaciers to rising sea levels,” Greenpeace says.

“Take action today and tell the head of the DOI – Secretary Sally Jewell – we want healthy national parks and public lands, not coal mines and climate change,” it adds.
