GoPro cameras have had their fair share of encounters with animals, they have been played with, tormented and even picked up from the ground and stolen like the case of the bald eagle that mistook it for prey.

Well, this time wild life is attacking another piece of photo-friendly equipment – a drone. Massachusetts photographer Christopher Schmidt was flying out is quadcopter over an area in the vicinity of Magazine Beach Park, when an irritated hawk approached it at full speed and took it down in an instant.

The unnamed camera powering the flying vehicle managed to survive the encounter with the angry bird and capture the full extent of the violent interaction.

This incident might explain why the Yosemite National Park has banned the use of drones in the park. The administration of the national reserve explained that the use of drones had a significant impact on wild life and human travelers alike.

It appears Yosemite was right in applying the restriction as the hawk in the video certainly looks annoyed and not happy about another flying “creature” invading its territory or privacy. On the other hand, the bird might have been bothered by the levels of noise drones tend to bring about.
