This dramatic clip of Syrian rebels shooting down a helicopter was taken in the Syrian city of Idlib, on Wednesday.

The explosion, supposedly shot with an amateur camera, is followed by the chopper spiraling down and landing in a ball of flames, as smoke comes out of its engines.

The clip stands as testimony of the fact that rebels in Syria have acquired heavy weaponry, and that they are being hunted down and bombarded by government air forces, according to the Telegraph.

The conflict between state forces and rebels has been going on for 19 months, and rebels are going against an army armed with tanks, jets and helicopter gunships.

Judging by the attack caught on camera on this occasion, it doesn't seem like the end of the conflict is in sight.
