It's not every day that you see a helicopter pilot land on a guard rail, on a cliff, by a road, to aid an accident victim.

This video was uploaded two days ago to YouTube by user Avisa Sør-Trøndelag, and it has racked up some half-a-million views.

The pilot had flown there for an emergency, as a vehicle had been smashed into a cliff. An ambulance also arrives at the scene later on, Vice Magazine comments.

He keeps the chopper balanced on the rail while a doctor climbs out. The Reddit uploader claims that this is an everyday occurrence in certain areas of Norway, where the landscape requires it.

"Similar landings will be executed on rock formations or on cabin roofs during mountain rescues," the uploader describes.
