He simply melts them and forges the weapon

It's good news for those of you who've always wanted thier very own sword but have no idea where to get one: as it turns out, forging such a pointy weapon at home is a fascinatingly easy thing to do.

All you have to do is get some pewter trays, bowls and whatnot from the thrift store closest to your home, melt them in a regular frying pan and then pour them over a styrofoam cast of the sword you want to make.

Unless you want to get a pancake-shaped sword that looks more like a frisbee, make sure you completely bury the styrofoam cast in sand before pouring the molten alloy over it.

The liquid pewter will instantly vaporize the styrofoam and take its place inside the sand. When it cools and can be safely removed, your homemade weapon will be just a scrub away from being worthy of being called a sword.

As explained in the video below, there are several perks to using pewter and not some other material to forge a sword at home. For starters, it is an alloy that is fairly easy to come by.

Besides, it has a low melting point, at least when compared to other mixtures of metals, which means you won't have to try very hard to turn it into a liquid and use it to make your sword.
