The result is surprisingly artistic, no joke

When California man Jeff Heeszel decided to pour Cola Cola over molten lead, he assumed that most of the water in the soda would simply evaporate and the remaining syrup would ignite.

Much to his surprise, however, this did not happen. Rather, as shown in the video below, the soda cooled the lead entirely and turned it into an artwork of sorts.

Specifically, the Cola Cola formed swirls and twirls in the metal that Jeff Heeszel found strikingly similar to Van Gogh's famous “Starry Night” painting.

“What happens when you pour Coca Cola into a pan of molten lead? Obviously, ART occurs,” the California science aficionado wrote in the video's description.

Well, Van Gogh would have probably begged to differ, but since he's not around any longer, we might as well let Jeff Heeszel have his way and call his abstract soda-carved chunk of lead a work of art.

As explained in the video, lead has a melting point of 621 degrees Fahrenheit (that's 327 degrees Celsius), so it might not be such a good idea if you were to try and recreate this little experiment at home.

Trust us, molten metals are not the kind of stuff you want to be playing around with, especially if you have no protective equipment or some experience handling them safely.
