Because a picture will always speak louder than a thousand words, here's an entire set of them, in a 48-minute documentary. The film is called “Green: Death of the Forests,” and it was made by Patrick Rouxel.

You can see it full above, after airing on Al Jazeera's “Witness” program.

Green is an orangutan who's dying because its habitat was entirely destroyed in the massive deforestation operations in Indonesia.

This is Green's story, as told through its eyes.

“An extraordinary visual essay about deforestation in Indonesia as experienced through the eyes of a dying orangutan called Green, whose habitat has been totally destroyed. This story is told entirely without words,” reads a description of the film.

If you want to know more about how you can actively choose not to be a part of the destruction in this corner of the world, or are interested in more of Patrick's work, here's where you can find out more.
